Horgan's Delicatessen Supplies boasts a modern 3,500 square metre premises and storage unit in Mitchelstown, County Cork, which has been the subject of significant investment in recent years, with the latest expansion and upgrade completed in March 2001. Investment and development of facilities are designed to continuously enhance food quality and traceability measures in addition to the efficiency of services to customers.

 

Fresh Cutting, Waxing & Packing

 

The facility at Mitchelstown offers a clean room environment cheese cutting, waxing and packing facility. It is a state of the art Class 100 positive air pressure environment with experienced cheese cutters supported by hygiene and safety training, to facilitate the preparation and labelling of bulk cheeses whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.


Supported by a CJ 50 Continuous Line Packing System and a Flow-Wrap system, this facility allows us to meet tailored customer size specifications - ranging from 20 gr individual pack sizes supplied to airlines for in-flight catering; to 100 gr or larger pack sizes for retailers and supermarkets; to individual mozzarella & whiskey cheese slices for sandwiches.

The waxing facility allows us to prepare speciality brands for sale, such as Wexford Vintage Cheddar with its distinct black wax coat.

The packaging line meets all of the expectations of a modern packing facility, including bar coding, best before dates and country of origin details. The service extends to cater for own-designed or creative dual labelling in order to meet individual specifications.

A range of over 150 freshly cut and packed cheeses is available from this facility, guaranteed to satisfy the requirements of any deli-counter, whatever its size.

 

Cheese Maturing

Horgan's offers three modern cheese-maturing rooms with temperature and humidity controls in order to meet the changing market needs of both producers and customers.
